About Me

WELCOME!

Hi, I am Dr Kelly Jones, a Registered Consultant Clinical Psychologist, wife and mother of two.  American by background, I enjoy travelling, fundraising for charities and am passionate about my hobby of board-gaming.

For over 15 years, I have worked in the NHS supporting people with a vast array of mental health difficulties including anxiety disorders, trauma, bereavement and adjustment disorders. I also spent two years working in a chronic pain service specialising in long term health conditions before opening my own private practice in the Surrey Hills of Merstham in 2020.  (A particular proud moment: My groups in the NHS were award winning for innovation as shown in the photo to the right! )

Whilst highly-skilled in individual and group techniques (such as Cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), my passion has always aligned more with positive psychology, specifically Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Mindfulness. I am highly specialised in working in chronic pain and long term health conditions using ACT and Compassion-Focussed Therapy (CFT). I am also a qualified Mindfulness Now Teacher, trained at that UK College of Mindfulness Meditation (accredited by the BPS) with skills in MBSR & MBCT. I am also trained in providing high quality supervision to other practitioners of ACT using the SEED model of supervision.

My practice ethos promotes well-being, recovery and strengths building as I have helped many clients to reach value driven goals and improve their quality of life even in the midst of chronic pain conditions. I love helping people like yourself learn new skills such as how to manage stress better, how to make the most of every moment and bring your life inline with the things you value most despite physical challenges that may be present.  Together we can learn how to live more in the present moment and maybe even have a laugh doing so.  I look forward to meeting you soon and helping you to make a positive difference in your life.
